What is Sports Performance Training?
One of the common threads I have noticed over my years of treating
professional, Olympic, college, high school and grade school athletes
is a woefully inadequate or non-existent strength and conditioning program.
This lack of preparation leads to injuries that could have been prevented
and performance that could have been improved. This also goes for the
weekend warrior who thinks they can just get on the court or field and
play with no preparation or consistent training.
The National SAFE Kids
Campaign states that there over 3 million sports related injuries
occur in children and teens each year. The 2003-2004 NCAA Sports
Medicine Handbook, p.6 states:
"Preseason Preparation: The student-athlete should be protected
from premature exposure to the full rigors of sport. Preseason
conditioning should provide the student-athlete with optimal
readiness by the first practice."
Our programs maximize anyone's athletic potential by training
speed, strength, agility, flexibility, balance and endurance in a
safe, supervised environment. These programs are for people of any
age and skill level.
