Golfers
The sport of golf was forever changed late in the summer of 1996 when Tiger Woods made his professional debut. Since then, Tiger has won more tournaments and more prize money then any other active golfer. While there were numerous components that factored into his success, the one key thing that Tiger did, that no other golfer at the time did, was follow a thorough strength and conditioning program.

In the years since, training regimes for touring professionals have become the norm, no longer the exception. The typical "lifecycle" of a sport-related trend is to start with the hyper-competitive / elite participants and then it trickles down to the local level. Now is that time for golfers in our community.

The Velocity Sports Performance golf fitness program will
Improve Your Game - Increase your strength and agility to add yards to your shot, increase the consistency of your game and lower your score.
Increase Your Enjoyment of the Game - Improve your stamina and overall range of motion, you'll delay the onset of fatigue.
Decrease Injuries - Focusing on your overall fitness (stamina, strength, stability, etc.) will help prevent and bounce back from common injuries found in golfers. In his book, Peter Egoesque writes, "unless golf faces up to the indifference it has traditionally shown to the body and its proper functioning, the booming interest in golf won't last. The sport will be swamped in pain. Thirty and forty-year-olds who are now heading for the fairways in droves are the least functional generation who has ever teed up a golf ball. They bring dysfunction... by playing hour after hour, day after day, and this repetitive compensation motion injures them."

Our golf program consists of 60 minute workouts which include:

1. Strength training for golf specific muscle groups
    a. Hamstring, quadriceps
    b. Upper body pushing and pulling
    c. Rotational exercise
2. Medicine ball movements which mimic the golf motion
3. Core stability exercises
4. Pre-habilitation exercises focusing on the shoulder and hip joints
5. Forearm strength and control exercise
6. Energy system development to prevent fatigue in the later rounds

Our specialized software called DARTFISH (the same software seen on the 2004 Olympic Games coverage) will give you a state of the art functional video motion analysis of your swing.

"In my opinion, Dartfish offers the future in video analysis - today. The program has all of the video capture capabilities, analysis tools, and ways to manage your clips that you would ever want. The features that make it so valuable to my students, and to me as an instructor, is the ability to share my analysis. I can easily burn multiple clips onto a CD-ROM or DVD with Dartfish's enhanced CD Creator. I can email the same analyzed clips directly to the student's computer. I can always transfer the analysis to tape and hand it to them. Or, I can use the Dartfish Producer and create a customized, interactive lesson with audio comments that I can email direct to the student or burn onto a CD or DVD. The variety of communication tools are a 'difference maker' because the student actually reviews the information in a format that is ideal for them and puts my instruction into play."

"I have experienced tremendous success with Dartfish software. It allows my students to see the changes needed and enhances their understanding of the golf swing. Dartfish will help you improve as a teacher and will lower your student's scores."

Dave Phillips

"I have been involved with computerized Swing Analysis since late 80's. As a top 100 Teachers, I have used numerous systems available on the market. Dartfish is by far the most advanced Swing Analysis Software available. It enables me to communicate with my students in better and more professional manner than ever before."
